Healing through Sound

Much like the pleasure of soaking in the tub after a long day, sound baths can offer you another way to relax and destress.

Sounds can either mess up your day or help you to cope with it. If you’re burning the midnight oil and need to rely on the alarm clock the next morning, doesn’t it feel like you’re rudely awakened when it goes off?

When you are going through a breakup, there always seems to be a newly released anthem that you can belt at the top of your lungs that lifts the mood.

Or is that just me?

In yoga, you can feel good through sound as well. While in yoga teacher training, I was introduced to the sound bath through a yoga class led by Jaymi Anderson. After my first sound bath, I felt as if I was floating on air for hours!

Sound therapy has been proven to lower blood pressure, relieve anxiety, and foster a deep spiritual connection. Sound baths, in particular, can create an ambiance of deep relaxation. The sessions are led by an instructor who plays singing bowls, chimes, chants, or other instruments.
