Meet us on your neighborhood sidewalk, local track, or trail to take yoga outdoors. Ease into a walking practice with guided stretching and breathing techniques. By the end of this series, you will walk up to two miles!

Shavonne is a 200-RYT and founder of Strength In Om. Her intention is to create a platform in which students can practice with certified instructors who represent a wide range of body-types and backgrounds. Shavonne’s classes help students build body awareness through steady movements and deep relaxation from home.

Flexibility is not a requirement for yoga. It is a possible result of a regular practice.
During class, the instructor will offer tips to support you should you feel tightness or other sensations. Do not proceed if you feel pain.
Always consult your physician before beginning this or any other exercise program.

Grab your smartphone, tablet, or computer. Open the registration confirmation email or calendar appointment. Click the link to join the class on Zoom. That’s it!

You will need the following:
1 - Wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing
2 - Yoga mat, thick carpet, or stable rug
OPTIONAL:
Yoga blocks, firm cushions, or books
Yoga bolster, rolled up mat, or pillows
Yoga blanket, throw blanket, or towel
Yoga strap, scarf, towel, or cloth belt

Because yoga is more than physical, technically, you can practice it everyday. However, you can experience the benefits with a regular physical practice of 2 - 3 times per week including:
enhanced sleep quality
increased flexibility and mobility
mental clarity and calm
improved posture and strength
better circulation in the body

It is not recommended to practice yoga:
before strength training
less than 2 hours after a meal
when you’re overwhelmed*
without a doctor’s recommendation. If approved, listen to your body & modify.
*Sometimes, it is better to find a healthy alternative (e.g. take a nap, talk therapy, sound bath, etc.). Give yourself grace!
